SEOUL (17 October 2022)- OHCHR (Seoul) hosted a meeting with the Republic of Korea-based Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to introduce James Heenan, the new Representative of the OHCHR (Seoul) Office. The new Representative listened to the CSOs activities and their engagement in human rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). He appreciated the important role played by the CSOs to advance the DPRK human rights agenda and expressed his commitment to work closely with all CSOs. He also mentioned that OHCHR (Seoul) will try to implement, to the fullest extent possible, all aspects of the Office’s mandate. 45 representatives from 32 CSOs working on human rights, humanitarian support and peacebuilding participated in the meeting.
